A workflow in SnapApp outlines the sequence of processes, from input to final output, detailing how data flows and tasks are executed within the system that includes actions like insert, update, upsert, etc.

Create a workflow
- Navigate to Settings from the User menu of the top bar.
- Tap on Automation of the left navigation bar → Workflows.
- Tap on + Add New in the top header.
- Configure the workflow settings and fill out the required fields.
Type | Description |
---|---|
Type | Defines a type of the workflow. Type can be either API or Insert or Update or Upsert or Time based |
Name | Defines a unique name of the workflow. |
Object | Select object from the existing objects |
Description | Provide a description of the workflow. |
Status | This field is used to activate the workflow. By default, it is inactive. |
Workflow Actions
A workflow action is a specific task or operation executed within a workflow process. It triggers predefined actions based on set conditions.
The different actions are:
- Activity
- Data Migration
- Insert
- Alert
- Document Generation
- Delete
- Pubsub Outbound
- SMS
- Integration
- PubSub Inbound
- Expression
- Field Update
Workflow Condition
A workflow condition is a rule or set of criteria that determines the flow or execution of tasks within a workflow.
In SnapApp, the workflow will be triggered when the field condition satisfied the given value.
Workflow Steps
Workflow steps are the sequential tasks or processes involved in completing a project or operation, ensuring efficient task management, consistency, and collaboration towards achieving specific objectives. In SnapApp, the steps include Action, If, ForEach, Timer and Query. This components are same as that of the components of diagram view
- Tap on
+ Add new
button to add workflow steps. - Select the type of workflow step.
- Diagram Position of workflow steps is to determine the position of the component in the diagram view.
- Branch is to determine the path of workflow steps
- Sequence will check the arrangement of workflow steps.
View the Workflow Configuration
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Automation → Workflows.
- Select the Workflow from the list of workflows to be viewed.
- Tap on the button to view. This will redirect to the workflow builder
Edit a Workflow
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Automation → Workflows.
- Select the Workflow in the list of workflows to be edited.
- Tap on the button to edit the workflow.
Delete a Workflow
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Automation → Workflows.
- Select the Workflows from the list to be deleted
- Tap on the button to delete the workflow.
